Farmhouse. C17, possibly earlier, extended C18 and late C19. Limestone rubble,
partly roughcast, and some timber framing with brick infill; old plain-tile
roof. Cross-passage plan, extended. 2 storeys. Early 2-window roughcast range
has 6-panel door, to extreme left, and 2-light casements at ground and first
floors. Short C18 range of one storey plus attic, projects to right. Substantial
late-C19 range, to left, has a further end range and a gabled projection with a
canted bay. Right gable of early range has upper part in brick with exposed
rafters crossed at apex and supporting a ridge piece. Rear has timber framing
with brick infill, at first floor, and a rebuilt lateral stack. Remains of a
shallow jetty carried on cross beams suggest a possible medieval origin.
Interior: Very heavy chamfered cross beams.
