5/26 Churchyard Cross, 6m south - of Church of St John
GV II
Churchyard cross, C15 or early C16, restored mid C19. Limestone. A square offset plinth of C19. The base, 0.8m square and 0.5m high, is medieval: buttresses with traceried sunk panels at each corner. A panel on each side has a sunk quatrefoil and fleur de lys above. Tapering octagonal shaft about 2.5m high. A tabernacle at the head has a pyramidal roof with 4 gables, one having a niche with carved crucifixion scene.
