5/174 The Thatch and two 09/12/55 flanking cottages (formerly listed as three cottages approximately 10 yards south west of Barn Cottages)

GV II

Terrace of 3 cottages, built as one house probably in C16. 2 storeys. 3-cell plan. Timber-framed and plastered. Thatched roof. An axial chimney of late C16/early C17 with narrow buff bricks; recapped in C19 red brick; an C18/C19 gable chimney to right of red brick. Early C19 casements, those at 1st storey with very small cast iron panes, those below with wooden small-pane casements. The Thatch has a C19 4-panelled entrance door; the other cottages have boarded doors; small open gabled C19 porches, two with latticework sides. Interior not examined.
