House, now 2 dwellings. Early to mid C16, floored and extended in C17, extended and altered in C20. Timber frames, plastered. Steeply pitched glazed pantiled roofs. Originally a small 2 bay open hall, extended to right with lobby entry and parlour bays. Now all 2 storeys. Earlier bays have entrance slightly off centre, half glazed recessed door with flathooded surround, C19 and C20 2 and 3-light flush frame casements, ground floor hoodboards. Left end C19 external stack with rebuilt capping, exposed plates and purlins. Parlour addition to right, now Harrow Cottage, has C20 openings. Axial ridge stack to left, exposed plates and purlins in taller roof. Lower 2 storey C20 addition to far right. To rear early continuous lean-to outshut additions. Interior: Forge Cottage has close studding, chamfered binding beams and joists, first floor framing concealed. Harrow Cottage has a stop chamfered axial binding beam, straight tension braces, altered framing.
