PALGRAVE MILLWAY LANE (NORTH SIDE) TM 1178 5/81 1 Longs Farm House -
GV II
Farmhouse. Early C17, probably earlier in origins. Timber frame, roughcast. Thatched and pantiled roofs. An L on plan, appears as a 2 bay early core extended by a service bay to right and a 2 cell lobby entry parlour wing at right angles to left. 2 storeys. Main range has a part raised 6 panelled recessed door in service bay to right, ground floor C20 casements, first floor C19 3 and 4-light casements, an axial ridge stack between hall bays, thatch with slightly lower eaves to service bay hipped to right end. Parlour wing extends forward to left with an entrance in inner angle, 6 panelled double door with reeded architrave, a large axial ridge stack moulded at base of shaft, pantiled roof. Front gable end has a ground floor bay window. Outer elevation has a gable at end of main range. To rear scattered casements with doors in hall and service bays. Interior: jewel stop chamfered binding beam and stop-chamfered post in parlour bay, elsewhere not inspected.
