Details
TILSHEAD HIGH STREET SU 04 NW (south side) 1/283 Elm cottage II Detached cottage. Early Cl7. Square-panelled timber-framing with brick nogging, and some brick, half-hipped thatched roof, brick stacks. 3-bay timber-frame, smaller centre bay for chimney. Gable end to street. 2-storey and attic, 2-window. Half-glazed door with thatched canopy to right, C20 casement and 2-light casement to left. First floor has single casement. Attic has single casement to left. Pair of diagonally-set axial stacks. Right return is Flemish bond brick gable end to street; one 2-light casement to ground and first floors and a single casement to first floor. Rear has C20 door to left, two 2-light and one 3-light casement. Left return is windowless and is English garden wall bond brick. Interior said to have chamfered beams with ogee stops.
