CORSHAM CHURCH STREET ST 8770 (south side) 5/96 Nos 4 and 5 (formerly listed as two separate items) 20.12.60 GV II
Pair of houses, dated 1714 in porch of No 4, limewashed rubble stone with stone tiled roof, coped gables, end wall stacks, ridge stacks and wallface stack at north-west end of No 5. Two and a half storeys. Four-window range. Four dormer gables with moulded coping, hoodmoulds over 2-light recessed cyma-moulded windows. Four first floor similar 3-light windows with continuous dripcourse. Ground floor stepped dripcourse over 2 pairs of 12- pane sashes in raised moulded surrounds flanking door of No 4 and two 16-pane sashes flanking door of No 5. Six-panel doors in flush cyma-surrounds with broad curved hoods on large brackets. Rear of No 4 has wallface stack, one upper floor horizontal sash under hoodmould, door in moulded flush surround and rear wing with C19 slate roof and upper 16-pane sash, but ground floor 3-light recessed ovolo-moulded window. Rear of No 5 has first floor 2- light flush cyma-moulded window and hoodmould and hipped single storey addition at south-east angle.
