METFIELD HONEYPOT LANE TM 28 SE 2/98 Barn 30m east of Rookery - Farmhouse -- II
Barn. Late C16. Timber framed and weatherboarded with a plaintiled roof. 4 bays; cart entrance in 2nd. bay from south, with a porch on the west side. Full-height oak studs except in the north gable end where there is a middle rail; some later alterations to the frame. The northernmost bay was once floored over and used as stables; there is evidence for original diamond- mullioned windows. Good intact roof with clasped and butt purlins and cranked wind-bracing; there are queen-struts from the tie beams to the principal rafters.
