House. Early C17, possibly earlier. Coursed squared limestone rubble and brickwork of irregular bond; old plain-tile roof and brick stacks. Two-unit through-passage plan with cross-wing. Main range of one storey plus attics with brick-cased two-window front. C20 door between two-light casements with two two-light dormers. Steep roof with stacks to left gable and to right of passage, just below ridge. Left gable wall has N/B/S/1657 on quoin. Two-window return front of two-storey stone cross-wing to right has been altered and has C20 casements. Front gable has a stone stack.
Interior: Main range has two open fireplaces with cambered chamfered bressumers, one flanked by a fixed wooden settle, and chamfered and stopped beams and joists. Joists span onto perimeter beams. Roof trusses support single row of trenched purlins with heavy wind-braces. Cross-wing has first-floor fireplace with timber Tudor arch, and above a plaster panel with a moulded arched border surrounding a portrait head and floral design flanked by the date 1630. Intersecting chamfered and stopped beams at ground floor.
Cottage attached to front gable of cross-wing is excluded.
