WEYBREAD MILL ROAD TM 28 SW 1/134 Weybread House - 4.12.80 -- II

House. Early C19 with early C17 work to rear; a further rear wing of c.1900. White brick with a wooden mutule eaves cornice and hipped slated roof. 2 storeys. 5 windows, 2:1:2, the centre section set forward with a flat parapet, the openings set within a 3-centre arched recess. Inset sash windows with glazing bars under flat brick arches. Good doorway with inset 6-panelled raised and fielded door, 3-light rectangular fanlight and panelled reveals; doorcase with convex reeded pilasters and entablature with projecting cornice. Earlier work has timber framed core, encased in brick and with a roof of glazed black pantiles. Staircase hall lit by elliptical lantern. Open well stair with stick balusters and carved tread-ends. Some good early C19 joinery including reeded surrounds to windows and internal doors. Most of the C17 work is concealed.
