Stables and coach-houses, serving Stowlangtoft Hall; c.1859 by H. Hakewill for Fuller Maitland Wilson. In the Italianate Style. Gault brick, mainly with eaves cornices incorporating a sawtooth band. Hipped slated roofs. In four ranges around a court. The west range comprises a gatehouse with attached 3- storey tower to right and 2-storey lodgings to left. The north and south ranges comprise coach-houses. The east range has 3 stables to left and lodgings to right, and at the centre the predominant feature: a giant open pediment on a pair of Tuscan columns, all suspended from stone corbels at 1st storey level. Supported on massive timber trusses behind is a square timber- framed clock tower with a slated pyramid roof on brackets. Recessed within the pediment is a dovecote. Large-pane sashes: segmental heads of gauged. brick. Framed and boarded doors to coach houses and stables. The gatehouse has moulded archways of gauged brick at both inner and outer faces.
