1/158 House at Roger's Corner - immediately east of Oakcroft

House, latterly 2 dwellings. Early C16, extended mid to late C17, altered C20. Timber frame, plastered. Thatched roofs. Originally a small 2 bay open hall extended to right with parlour and lobby entrance bays. 1 storey and attic and 2 storeys. Hall to left retains cross passage with a boarded door. C20 2-light casement to hall, C20 garage addition in front of service bay. Parlour addition has a C20 gabled porch to left, 2-light casements with glazing bars and a moulded frame on first floor, taller eaves and ridge with a filletted axial ridge stack to left. Left gable end 2-light attic casement. To rear a cross passage door and a 2-light attic window over hall, parlour extends further to rear. Interior: cross passage retains 2 doorways into service end, hall has an inserted axial binding beam, reverse curved bracing in service end wall, roof not inspected. Parlour has a bar and ogee stop chamfered axial binding beam, curved tension braces in end wall. Oakcroft is not listable.
