BOYTON CORTON VILLAGE ST 94 SW (east side) 4/31 Jubilee Cottage
GV II
Detached cottage. Late C17 with late C19 addition to east end. Square-panelled timber-framing with brick nogging, weatherboard cladding to south side, C19 build is rubble stone with brick dressings, half-hipped thatched roof, brick stacks. Gable end to road. Single storey and attic, 2-windowed; casements. Four- panelled door in C20 porch to centre, 2-light casement either side. Attic has one-light and 2-light casements. Left return has C20 four-light casement in renewed timber-framed gable-end wall. Right return has 2-light casement to ground floor, two segmental- headed 2-light casements to first floor. Rear has 2-light casements to ground floor and to three eyebrow dormers, original timber-framing exposed on this wall. Interior said to have blocked open fireplace. A rare example of surviving timber-framing in this area.
