BRIXTON DEVERILL - ST 83 NE 5/38 Nos. 1 and 2 Georges Barn 11.9.68 II

Semi-detached cottages. Late C17. Rubble stone with Flemish bond brick to first foor, thatched half-hipped roof, brick stacks. T- plan. Two-storey, 3-windowed. Planked door in C20 thatched porch to left, two 3-light recessed chamfered mullioned casements to right. Moulded stone offset to brick first floor; blocked chamfered light and 3-light mullioned casement. Early C18 cross wing to right has two 2-light recessed chamfered mullioned casements to ground floor and C20 casement to first floor. To left is single storey C18 extension with 3-light and 2-light casement to eyebrow dormer. Right return has half-glazed door in thatched porch and 3-light casement to right. Rear has C20 steel casements and glazed door, lean-to extension to rear of main build. Interior not accessible at time of survey (May 1985).
