- II
Farmhouse. Early C18 with late C18 addition to rear. Coursed limestone rubble
with stone dressings. Stone slate roof. L-plan. Two storeys and attic.
North-east front: integral brick and stone end stack to left with weatherings,
and stone ridge stack off-centre to right and integral brick end stack to right,
both with weatherings and shafts rebuilt in brick. Three gabled dormers with
small-paned 2-light wooden casements. 3:1 bays; leaded wooden cross windows with
chamfered wooden lintels and chamfered stone cills; ground-floor boxed 16-pane
glazing bar sashes in first and second bays from left. Half-glazed door in
second bay from left with chamfered wooden lintel and gabled C20 porch. Blocked
doorway between first and second bays from right (see straight joints).
One-storey service wing adjoining at right angles to right with wooden cross
windows and boarded door. Rear: 2 windows to right; first-floor leaded wooden
cross window to left, blocked first-floor window to right (see lintel),
ground-floor 3-light leaded wooden casement to left and ground-floor boxed
16-pane glazing bar sash to right. Central door with 6 beaded flush panels,
wooden lintel and C20 glazed porch. Gabled star tower to left of 2 storeys and
attic with leaded 2-light wooden attic casement, and right-hand return with
first-floor leaded 2-light casement and blocked doorway (see lintel). Right-hand
return front: projecting semi-circular bread oven with conical stone-slate roof.
Straight joint to rear wing at right. Interior not inspected but panelled
internal window shutters noted.
