Details
WYLYE DYER LANE SU 03 NW (north side) 2/119 Wylye Place GV II Rectory, now private dwelling. Early C19. Stuccoed flint and limestone, Welsh slate hipped roof, brick stacks. Two-storey, 3- windowed east front has slightly projecting gabled centre bay. Central double doors with traceried glazing bars, Tudor-arched opening with square hoodmould, diagonal buttresses either side and 12-pane sash with hoodmould to side bays. First floor has three- 16-pane sashes with hoodmoulds. Left return has tripartite French windows to ground floor and 12-pane sashes with hoodmoulds to first floor. Right return in dressed limestone and flint with 12-pane sashes. Interior and rear not accessible at time of survey (September 1985), but said to have Regency fittings; stairs with stick balusters, reeded fireplaces, window shutters.
