Details

BREDFIELD UFFORD ROAD TM 25 SE (South side) 3/47 Dewells Farmhouse II Farmhouse, now house. Late C16/early C17. Timber framed rendered and colourwashed with a pantile roof (probably originally thatched). Entrance front: gabled porch at right of centre with a plank doorway. At either side of this are 3-light C19 casement windows and to the first floor are three 3-light C19 casements set within the original window openings. To the ridge is a stack with 3 pots. The right hand gable end has one 3-light ground floor window and there are curved brackets at eaves level. The left hand gable end has a C20 window of 4 x 3 panes, brackets below the eaves and a gable with slight projection to its upper body. To left of this is a C20 flat-roofed single-storey wing, with single-light casement at right. Rear: the C20 wing at right, to left of which is a 3-light C20 casement and to far left a 2-light casement. The first floor has two 2-light casements at left and one 3-light window to the right.

Interior: Close studding to the ground and first floor rooms with chamfered beams. C16 window openings to first floor set with C19 casements but showing the original mullion sockets.
