Details
BREDFIELD (Off) WOODBRIDGE ROAD TM 25 SE (East side) 3/49 Blue Barn Farmhouse II House, formerly farmhouse. C17. Timber framed with brick and rendered and colour-washed facing and pantile roof. Two storeys and single storey with attic. T-shaped plan. Entrance front: projecting gabled wing at right with a C19 brick facing having a 2-light casement with flat head to the ground floor within a blocked doorway and, a single-light casement to left of this. To the first floor are two 2-light casements, the gable above this has a diamond pattern and the date 1868 in light headers. In the re- entrant angle to left is a C20 porch with a lean-to roof and having a 6- panel door. To left of this in the recessed wing are two C20 windows each of 2 lights and to far left is a C20 glazed door. To the attic are two gabled half-dormer windows, each of 2 casement lights. The right hand side has two 2-light first floor windows, that at ground floor right of C20 date, the others of C19 date. Rear: projecting gabled wing at left with a 3-light C20 ground floor window and two 2-light first floor casement windows. Outshut to the re-entrant angle which has two 2-light ground floor casements and to the far right a 1/2-glazed door immediately next to which is a 2-light casement widow. To the first floor at left is a raking 1/2- dormer window of 2 lights. To the ridge at centre is a chimney stack and another at the left.
Interior: chamfered ceiling beams and rafters to the ground floor.
