HILMARTON CHURCH ROAD SU 07 NW (north side) 6/239 Two monuments in churchyard about 2m south-east of south-east angle of chancel of Church of St Laurence GV II Two chest tombs, early C19 and C18, ashlar. From north: a) Unidentified monument, early C19 with stepped ridged cap and slab sides. Plaque each side in incised frame with rebated angles and similar framed strips flanking. b) Chivers monument, later C18, with slab sides, moulded base and capstone and low relief incised framing to plaque each side. Inscription on north to John Chivers died 1759.
