SOWERBY BRIDGE DEAN LANE SE 042 2 & SE 0522 (west side, off) 15/44 Sowerby Orangery approx 50 metres to north of work- shop and barn range at 15. ll. 66 Field House (formerly listed as Orangery at Field House) GV II Orangery. Dated 1749 but in character probably c1874. Ashlar with glass roof. Single storey, 5 x 2 bays. Each bay has a tall round-arched window with imposts, date over central window. Cornice - interior: roof supported on cast-iron columns, plain at front, at rear chamfered and with decorative ironwork in the spandrels. Similar in style to gate piers and lodges (nos 192 and Porter Lodge (qv)) on Rochdale Road which are dated '1749 rebuilt 1874'.
