Milestone. Dated 1761. Tall stone post with rounded top inscribed on three sides: Marsden Penis(tone) Holmfirth 4 miles (1) 1 Miles (2) Miles
with very 1761 (very faint) faint pointing gloved hand
The stone is on the old cross-valley route linking the upper reaches of the Colne Valley with the upper reaches of the Don Valley, via the Holme Valley.
