HAM HAM VILLAGE SU 36 SW 6/122 Dove's House

GV II* House. Early C18, refurbished early C19 but containing elements of late C16- early C17. Brick, rendered to elevation and gable end tile hanging. Tiled roof. Two-storey and attics. Five window bays with 3-bay rear wing. Central through hall to lateral stairs at rear left, and flanking reception rooms. Services in rear wing. Front entrance 6-panel door with fanlight and bracketed moulded canopy. Sixteen-pane sashes, the centre raised as tiled hung gable with sash window. Roof probably refurbished early C20 and 4-flue gable stacks. Interior: Ground floor left room with stepped hollow moulded chamfer run out at stops. Stair with refixed C17 panelling, and first floor rear room fully panelled. Stair mid C18 with fielded panelled dado and balustrade. Front block and rear wing chamfered cross beams with ogee stops. Reception rooms have marble and wood fluted fire surrounds, shutters and reveal panelling, all early C19. Much internal partitioning of stud and panel, C17 or C18.
