Row of 3 cottages. Mid/late C17, possibly with earlier origins; late C18 and C19
alterations. Squared coursed ironstone. Straw thatched roof has coped gable
parapets to left and right ends; left gable has finial; rebuilt brick ridge and
right end stacks. T-plan, with wing to front. 2 storeys and attic; 7-window
range. The Lodge on left is a 3-window range. Part glazed C20 plank door, and
thatched open porch. Full-length sash to right. Two C20 windows with glazing
bars to left. First floor has 2-light casement with glazing bars to left. Leaded
4-light and 2-light casements. Sundial Cottage has plank door in angle. 2-light
casement to right. 3-light chamfered stone mullioned window above. Wing to left
has C19 casements of 3-, 2- and single attic lights with glazing bars,
horizontal to ground floor. Ground floor window has C18 painted sundial above.
Pear Tree Cottage has C19 panelled half-glazed door under brick round arch.
Shallow projection, possibly bread oven, to left. Tripartite sashes, replaced
with similar case vent on first floor on left. Swept dormer on right has small
3-light painted leaded wood mullioned window. Wood lintels, mostly painted,
throughout. Interiors said to have old beams and open fireplace.
