WEST DEAN RECTORY HILL SU 22 NE (west side) 11/158 Church Farmhouse 23.3.60 II
Farmhouse. c1650-1700. English bond brickwork, painted to east front. Tiled roof. Two storeys and attics. Five bays, extended to south by bay with carriageway, now sitting room. Entrances in open timber framed porch at south end to stair hall and second entrance at north end. Both fronts have brick buttresses defining bays, and plat band. Paned casement windows to the three northern bays, replaced on southern bays by 12 and 9-paned sashes. Three flat roofed dormers. Stacks to left gable and to bay 4. Bays 4 and 5 extended to rear c1930 and 2-storey window bay with gauged brick lintels to openings. Carriageway blocked and converted to domestic use and interior refitted c1840. Panelled shutters to window reveals. (RCHM survey)
