House. Circa 1840 for the Bretton Estate. Ashlar. Welsh slate roof. 3 x 1 bay main range with two, lower rear wings. Two storeys. Symmetrical 3-bay facade the narrower central bay set back slightly and gabled. Clasping octagonal buttresses rise as pinnacles. Central pointed-arched doorway with flanking slender lights all under dripmould. Chamfered 2-light windows with hoodmoulds and 8-pane sashes. Moulded bands to parapet quatrefoil in gable apex. Similar, gabled, left and right returns. Rear: 2-storey wing to left, single-storey central wing, possibly later, both of coursed squared stone and gabled with kneelers and copings. Rising from the parapet is a symmetrical series of octagonal ashlar stacks in groups of 1,4,2,4,1. Interior: not inspected. The house was originally occupied by John Brackenridge the land agent of the estate.
