House, now in 3 occupations. C15 timber-frame encased in stone early C17, with mid C18 alterations and C19 additions. Large dressed stone and thin coursed stone, stone slate roof. Single aisled hall and ungabled cross-wing plan. Cross-wing breaks forward from main range, though under same roof line. 2 storeys. Has main feature to ground floor of 5-light double chamfered mullioned window (2 mullions removed) with hood mould over with stars in square label stops. Over is 3-light double chamfered mullioned window and C18 4-light mullioned window, with gable stack. Main hall range of 2 storeys. Front rendered and rebuilt mid C18, extended early C19 with coped gable with kneelers of 3 bays. First has 3-light mullioned window and doorway with single light over and 2-light window, second bay has window in position of original doorway with through passage 2-light mullioned window over; doorway, 2-light window with 3-light and 2-light over. Gabled stack to ridge. Third bay has lower roof line with doorway and 2-light window with 4-light window over. Rear has single storey aisle with steeply pitched continuous roof. Interior has surving post to arcade plate and king post truss with 'A' struts. A. J. Pacey 'Elland Buildings' unpublished (1964) (copy in Elland Library).
