8/80 Water pump niche in - wall immediately west of garden wall to No 26.
GV II
Pump niche. Probably mid C19. Ashlar. In Classical style. A round-arched niche with a dropped keystone and moulded coping. Pump gone. Square recess in rear for pump mechanism. Presumably used to take water from the "Town Well" (q.v.) 25 metres north, to the roadside.
