Details

NEW WALK 1. 5304 (North East Side) Nos 98 to 104 (even) SK 5903 9/308 II GV 2. Early C19 terrace in grey gault brick and stucco dressings. Two storeys and later attic storey. Nine windows divided by brick pilasters. Sashes with glazing bars, flat brick arches. No 98 has two late C19 two-storey splayed bays. No 104 has one similar bay. Nos 100 and 102 have late C19 brick ground floor square bay windows. Continuous moulded cornice below attic storey which is brick with parapet. All original doorways with wide segmental arches containing traceried fanlights, two large Tuscan columns in antis supporting entablature below fanlight. Slate hipped roof.

Nos 98 to 104 (even) together with Statue of Robert Hall, Nos 1 to 11 (odd) De Montfort Square including De Montfort House in Princess Road and No 55 New Walk and Nos 77 to 97 (odd) Princess Road form a group around De Montfort Square (Nos 77 to 97 (odd Princes Road is a building of local interest.
