Red Hill House
G.V. II
Colliery Manager's house, now private dwelling. 1908 for Bowes Colliery Company. Brick; roof of Welsh slate. 2 storeys, 3 bays; central 4-panelled door,under oblong fanlight and canopy, flanked by groups of 3 casements; sash window above flanked by double sashes. Flat stone lintels and projecting cills to windows. Roof has barge boards and 2 corniced end brick chimneys. Included for group value with Bowes mineral railway, a scheduled monument; and for historic association with the railway.
