4/16 Fir Cottage ( formerly listed as Fir Cottage 26.4.68 and Fir Trees) II

House, later house row, now house. Early C17 or earlier, probably of several periods. Timber-framed, weatherboarded, with plain tile roof. Cross-wing to left 2 storeys and attics, left end of main range 2 storeys, right end 1½ storeys, all on stone plinth. Cross- wing has jettied gable with moulded bressumer on decoratively carved brackets, with moulded bargeboards and pendant. Roof of main range in 2 parts, left end higher than right. Right end hipped to right. Multiple brick ridge stack to 2-storey section and red brick stack to right end of right section. One 2-light leaded casement to gable of wing and glazing-bar sash with thick glazing bars to first floor. 2-storey section has one 2-light leaded ovolo- moulded mullion window to first floor. 2 gabled eaves dormers to right section. Boarded door beneath stack with flat hood on decoratively carved early Cl7-style brackets.- Weatherboarded lean-to at either end. Interior not inspected.
