Details

LEEDS ASHBANK TQ 8253 8/69 Ash Cottage, Lower Ash- bank; and 2 lower Ashbank Cottages (formerly listed 26.4.68. as Lower Ashbank Cottages) II House, now house row. Early C17 and late C18, restored C20. Timber framed with plaster infilling, right and left end bays tile-hung, plain tile roof. Lobby entry plan. 2 storeys on stone plinth. Close-studded, but some studs altered. Continuous jetty to all but right and left end bays. Hipped roof, hip returning along left side elevation. Brick ridge stack off- centre to left and smaller brick stack to rear of left return wing. Irregular fenestration of 6 casements; 4 of 2 lights, one single light and one 4-light. Ribbed doors; to no. 2 beneath one stack, and to Ash Cottage to right end of jettied section, both up 4 steps. Tile-hung lean-to to right end. Left return wing probably late C18. Interiors not inspected.
