Farmhouse Early/mid C16; C20 panel an porch has date 1521. Timber-framed, of
close studding with middle rails and plastered infill on high sandstone plinth.
Rear wing largely rebuilt in brick. old plain-tile roof; brick central stack,
Baffle-entry T-plan with wing to rear. 2 storeys; 3-window range. Later
timber-framed open-fronted porch has gabled plain-tile roof. C20 double-leaf
doors inside. C20 leaded casements, mostly of 3 lights. Brickwork below
ground-floor windows has painted sham framing. First floor has 4-light casement
on left, and casements to right and right corner. Left return side has 4-light
casements. Gables have 2-light casements; right gable is plastered. Rear is
irregular. Interior: room in rear wing has open fireplace and chamfered ceiling
beam. Old plank doors. Room to left of entrance is noted as having early C17
panelling, fireplace with eared architrave, and overmantel of 2 panels with S
carved terminal figures, said to be dated 1621. VCH records that room to right
has large open fireplace and beamed ceiling.
