Pair of houses, formerly one house. C15 or earlier. Of two storeys and timber framed and plastered but with white painted weatherboardings on truncated east end. Roofs are gabled and pegtiled. Gabled crosswing at west end with ornamental finialed bargeboards and gabled porch hood. This part, 'Hope Cottage', has a date plaque high on wall with initials W.P. and '1873'. One double hung sash with small panes on each floor. North Cottage has a two light C19 casement with cross pattern glazing bars over a similar three light casement and entrance door. The roof line is broken between the units with a very large, square red brick stack on the ridge line. North Cottage has a moulded bridging joists with two ogees and a flat chamfer.
