6/109 The Old Forge and 20/02/67 Lyndhurst (The former was previously listed GV II the Old Forge House)
Pair of cottages and former forge. Mid C17. Timber framed and plastered. Cottage block is of 2 storeys and attics with gabled pegtile roof. Forge to north is a tall single storey structure with gabled pegtile roof. The Old Forge Cottage has 2 double hung sash windows with small panes and moulded surrounds over 2 similar windows and a central early C19 doorcase with simple panelled pilasters and flat hood. Lyndhurst has one C20 small paned casement on each floor and similar flat hooded doorcase with architrave in place of pilasters. Forge has C20 casements with single central horizontal glazing bars. To the rear of Old Forge Cottage is a large mid C17 stack over an inglenook with moulded brick cornice but rebuilt above this. Some old doors and simple exposed framing with stop chamfered bridging joists inside. Roof has joggled side purlins and there is a continuous rear lean-to.
