House, former farmhouse. c.1620. Timber framed and plastered with gabled pegtile roofs. Of 2 storeys with attics, but with one storey and attics gabled block, behind east end and 3 storey stair tower, towards west end of back elevation. Between these 2 is a catslide roofed lean-to. Baffle-entry plan form with off-centre ridgeline contemporary diagonal shafted stack over former front door position. South front has 3 flush display gables and C20 leaded light casements. Off-centre, middle gable has old iron leaded light casement. Rear has C20 casement windows with small panes. Typical 3 bay house with timber frame exposed inside with halved and bladed scarf joints, square joists and stop chamfered spine beams. Large back-to-back inglenook fireplaces to hall and parlour. RCHM 31.
