Detached house, perhaps related to mill buildings on site. C17 or C18, with considerable C19 modification. Rubble over stone base courses, double roman tile roof with brick gable stacks, that to north end over broad external stepped stack also incorporating stair turret. Simple two room modfied to 3 but top floor undivided. 3 storeys, previously 2 storeys but raised in C19, 2-windowed; two 3-light casements with leading to second floor, over 2-light casements to segmental brick heads, but only one casement at ground floor; plank door to segmental head off-centre left between windows. Opposite side has remains of windows at two levels, originally 3-light ovolo mould wood casements with crude stopped drips, now much blocked or modified except top right, and wood lintols with stops. Interior: stone newel stair to first floor and wood newel stair to second floor; two moulded overmantels to simple fire openings at north end and gun rack above mantel at ground floor, heavy chamfered and stopped beams. Some timber-framed partitioning at first floor, including cambered-head door opening. Collar roof, possibly some early timbers re-used. Undergoing extensive internal modification, July 1984.
