SO 61 SE NEWNHAM CHURCH ROAD (west side) 2/7 Denewood and Old Bear Buildings (formerly listed as Nos 3 and 4 29.10.80 Old Bear Buildings) - II

Dwelling, formerly the Old Bear Inn. C18. Rendered to stone parapet, Welsh slate hipped roofs. Complex parallel range structure, continuous with two properties in Nos 2 and 4 Severn Street (q.v.); two stacks, left, and off centre stack on ridge. Two-and-a-half storeys. Complex fenestration: ground floor with one sash, two canted bays and second sash, all with glazing bars, first floor five C19 sashes with bars, three dormer windows with sashes, to right. Panelled door, left, with plain transome light, and four panel door with side- lights, right, flat segmental decorative fanlight, set in porch with square pilasters carrying full entablature to flat-topped porch. Cellar opening in return to Severn Street; back is in brick with pantiles, anti some C18 sashes to top floor, with large elliptical opening, bottom right, now blocked.
