SO 71 NW HUNTLEY ROSS ROAD (south side) Huntley Court 7/54 II
House: late C16, altered mid C19. Red brickwork with blue diapering, English garden wall bond with excess stretchers, on stone plinth; stone window surrounds; slate roof. Rear elevation rendered. Large square building, 2 gables to front and rear, with single gable in centre of sides; 2-storey with attics. Front elevation central-panelled door, with St. Andrew's cross in lower part, covered mid C19 timber-framed porch. Either side a 3- light mullion and transom window, with iron casements and hoodmould. Above three 2-light windows, otherwise similar, with a 2-light mullioned window in each gable. Windows in red stone, dating from mid C19, with hollow chamfers. Gables crow-stepped, with brick cappings. 2 chimneys each side, with diamond-set stacks. One original window surround survives in left gable, part in right, in cream stone. Internally panelled mahogany doors on ground floor, panelled painted on first: stairs plain square balusters with turned newels. Recess formed at back of left rear room with coved, panelled ceiling and consoles to ridges. Extensions on left side panelled reusing in kitchen an original plank door with heavy moulded frame and cambered head.
