11/241 Wilkins monument, in churchyard about 2m north west of north porch, Church of St. Peter and St. Paul
GV II
Tall chest tomb; late C18; stone. Flat lid with moulded edge. Sides, slightly projecting main section, reflected in lid and plinth, with tall flanking panels each side. Centre narrow margin to raised main part, simply-moulded edge. Flanking parts a tall fielded panel. Ends raised panel only, as main part of sides. All on moulded base, set on very wide flat stone base, no evidence of railings. 'ENTRANCE' carved on east face of flat base. Commemorates James Wilkins, his wife and sons, with later inscriptions: wife died 1787.
