House.C15 or earlier,altered C16.Timber framed and exposed renewed large panel framing with plaster infill on red brick and sandstone base,with red and blue brick to end right.Plain tiled roof.End jettied hall house,the roof and possibly service and rebuilt mid C16.Two storeys on plinth,with jetty to left return,roof hipped with gablet to left,half-hipped to right with rebuilt stack to centre right.Three wooden casements on each floor,and plank and stud door to centre right with hipped hood.Interior:the small hall with inglenock fireplace,with crenellated dais beam,separated by colonette and moulded capital(exposed in the upper floor)from parlour door with tongue-poking head in spandrel, this truss with crown post,the parlour roof smoke-blackened.The roof to the hall and service wing is unblackened,clasped purlin with wind braces.The exterior framing is partly spurious and only partly related to the structure of the house.
