The folllowing building shall be added:

STATION ROAD TQ 37 SE 1/285 Penge East Railway Station II

Railway station, 1861-3 by the London Chatham and Dover Railway Co, when it extended its Kent Line between Beckenham and Herne Hill. Yellow stock brick with engineering brick, limestone and glazed tile dressings. Slate roofs. Asymmetrical plan, comprising 6 bay range to platform with 2-bay gabled wings, of 2 storeys to left, and one storey to right. Windows and doorways have limestone imposts and keystones with incised trefoil to red rubbed brick pointed arches, with engineering brick band over extrados of arch. Most sashes have pointed heads to upper lights. Openings to platform similar, but some windows do not have engineering brick band. South elevation. Left-hand wing. Single ground floor and first floor windows with narrow half storey light to right. Right hand return has single part glazed door, retaining original patterned glass, beneath slated timber canopy. Right-hand wing. Pair of ground floor windows, with oeil de boeuf in gable, encircled by rings of red brick, yellow brick and engineering brick. Attached lean-to to right with pair of single sashes. Main range of 4 similar sash windows with two pairs of similarly detailed part glazed doors to 4th and 5th bays. Moulded glazed band beneath cill level and at impost level at both storeys, except at lowest level coupled with flush limestone band. Also limestone bands at mid-storey levels, and across left-band gable. Red brick cornices dentilled at gables and across right hand gable at eaves height. Stacks at each end of main range, to let of left hand wing, and on ridge of right hand wing, all with oversailing caps, moulded bands and red brick decoration to the shoulders. Iron brackets at angles of gables. Oeil de boeuf to each platform gable. Part of scheme including Penge Tunnel for which Joseph Cubitt was Chief Engineer.
