Red brick on the ground floor and tile hung above but some exposed timbering. Half-hipped tiled roof. Four casement windows. In the late C15 the central bay of the house was an open hall with a crown post roof. The rafters over the hall are smoke blackened. In the mid C16 2 bays were added to the north end. At this time the hall was floored over and a smoke bay made in the middle of the 5 bays. The plaster face in the roof is soot-blackened. Tension braces are present in all the internal trusses. The chimney which serves rooms on both sides was probably added in the second half of the C17.
