Suburban villa, now 7 flats. 1819-20. By W Jope. Render replacing stucco on masonry elevations; hipped dry Delabole slate roofs with projecting eaves on wooden brackets; 2 rendered axial stacks. Large symmetrical double-depth plan. Classical style. 2 storeys; overall 7-window symmetrical entrance front: 3-bay projecting taller pedimented central block flanked by 1-bay links to 1-bay projecting pavilions, almost Palladian in concept. Central doorway with pair of 2-panel doors with sidelights with patterned glazing within moulded architraves; Tuscan porch with paired columns; original hornless sashes with glazing bars except some C20 copies. Pavilions have 1st-floor windows offset towards middle and ground-floor windows at far left and far right. 3-window returns. Rear garden front is articulated similar to entrance front but with central 2-storey bowed 3-light over 5-light window with blind sidelights; incised anthemion detail over 1st-floor window; pavilions blind. INTERIOR not inspected but likely to be of interest. (Pearce D: History of Liskeard: 1968-).
