House, now offices. Mid/late C17 with C19 alterations. Coursed
squared limestone rubble; stone slate roof; two ashlar ridge
stacks with moulded tops; two C19 brick stacks to left and
right sides of rear wing. 5 coped gables to front and five
gables to rear; double-pile single-storey extension to rear
right.
2 storeys and attic; 5-window range. First floor has five
2-light hollow-chamfered stone-mullion windows with iron
casements, some glazing repaired with leaded lights, and
hoodmoulds; probably all early C19. Five similar windows in
gables above. Ground floor has four similar 3-light windows.
C19 gabled ashlar porch with stone slate roof to centre has
studded door with 4 vertical panels formed by applied moulding
with Tudor-arched head in chamfered stone surround. Coped
gable to porch has moulded finial at apex. Flush quoins to
left and right angles of main range. Left side has one gable;
2-light windows similar to front at first floor and in gable;
similar 3-light window extending to ground level to ground
floor.
Rear elevation has three 2-light timber windows with inset
iron casements with pointed tops and intersecting tracery;
five similar windows in gables and 3 similar windows to ground
floor.
INTERIOR has early/ mid-C18 fireplace with bolection moulding
to ground floor left; C19 Gothic fireplace to ground floor
rear left; three early C19 fireplaces to first floor. 3
further C19 fireplaces and boxed-out beams throughout house;
first floor centre has beam with step-stopped chamfer.
