Pair of houses, now shops, undergoing conversion to Church
meeting rooms and vicarage at time of inspection. Late
C17/early C18. Coursed squared limestone with remains of old
limewash; stone slate roof; rebuilt brick ridge and left- and
right-end stacks.
2 storeys, attic and cellar; 8-window range. First floor has
five C19 two-light iron casements in moulded stone surrounds
with stone cills to left (No.1); two 6/6-pane sashes and one
blind window in similar surrounds to right (No.3).
Ground floor has four 6/6-pane sashes in similar surrounds to
left (No.1) and central 6-panel door with upper 4 panels
glazed in similar surround (No.1); to right C19 shop front
with C20 alterations has 9x3-pane bow windows with pilaster
strips and brackets to each side and dentil cornices; central
door has six large panes and matching 3-pane door to left;
glazing recessed for shutters. 5 gable dormers with 2-light
casements, leaded to right (No.3). Rectangular opening with
iron grille to cellar to right (No.3); oval opening with late
C17/early C18 decorative grille to left (No.1). Moulded string
over ground floor to left (No.1); coved eaves cornice. Eaves
gutter supported on 13 delicate iron brackets, possibly early
C19. Simple early C19 hanging-sign bracket to left (No.1).
Three simple wrought-iron boxes, probably early C19, to first
floor right (No.3).
Right side elevation to Coxwell Street has 6-panel door in
plain reveal with dripstone over; 8/8-pane sash in moulded
stone surround to ground floor; 3-light chamfered stone
mullion-and-transom window with leaded lights in moulded stone
surround to first floor. INTERIORS not inspected.
