Town house. C18 on C17 site, refronted and remodelled late C19. Rusticated stucco on rubble to front with scantle slate front roof behind parapet; some C17 crested clay ridge tiles, salvaged during repair. Single-depth range at front plus 2-room plan wing at right-angle to rear left. 2 storeys, 3-window range. Late C19 six-pane horned sashes; pilastered doorway on the right with moulded entablature and early C19 six-panel door with top 4 panels glazed. Rear wing has wide C18 three-light part sash window with thick glazing bars to side wall and two C18 sashes with thick glazing bars to ground and 1st floor of rear end (C20 copy to lower half of ground-floor window). INTERIOR: retains many interesting C18 and C19 features including fielded dado panelling and moulded ceiling cornice to front room and similar panelling to part of chamber above; ceiling joists to middle room; pantry and other cupboard leading from middle room; a blocked window with wooden shutters; several 2-panel doors; C18 chimneypiece to centre chamber of rear wing with early C19 hob grate; two C19 fireplaces; moulded chair rail to entrance passage and to rear chamber; plank-and-muntin partition between front chambers; C18 roof structures including evidence in front range of former lower roof level.
