GV II

Town house, later pair of houses. Possibly late C18, remodelled early C19 to create pair. Brick-faced front with rusticated granite quoins; steep hipped scantle slate roof with brick end stacks. Double-depth plan. 3 storeys over basement on left; 2-window range. C20 sixteen-pane horned sashes. Ground floor has wide central doorway with pilasters and consoles and tripartite arrangement with 6-panelled door with overlight and panelled 'sidelights'; flanking rubble masonry with window to each side and ashlar end piers, and round-headed basement doorway to far left. INTERIOR retains much original or early C19 carpentry and joinery detail and some early C19 moulded and carved plasterwork. A rare example for W Cornwall of the use of brick, which was imported into the harbour.
