Row of 4 houses, now 3 shops/accommodation and office. C17 with c1800 refronting. Brick, part painted, with some internal timber-frame; tile roof, part slate, with brick end stack and stack to front of ridge. 2 storeys; 5-window range. Top modillioned brick cornice. No.37 has exposed timber-frame in carriage entrance to No.36 (qv) and C20 shop front with canted oriel above, with consoled cornice over 2:4:2-pane horned sashes. No.38/39 is 3-window range: to right end an entrance with 4-panel door with 2-storey canted bay window to left, casements to ground floor and 2:4:2-pane sashes to 1st floor; to left a round-headed entrance with C20 split door with canted bay window to left and window with sill and rusticated wedge lintel over 16-pane sash to right, similar 1st-floor windows with 16-pane sashes. No.40 has C20 shop front with canopy over bay window with canted bay window above, with lean-to roof over 2:4:2-pane horned sashes, slate roof. Rear has C20 gabled wing to No.38. INTERIOR: exposed chamfered beams; No.39 has exposed close-studded cross wall with tension braces and no infill, close-studded former rear wall and flat joists; 2 console brackets to RSJ.
