Town house. Probably C17 with c1800 refronting. Stuccoed brick with internal timber-frame; tile roof hipped to right with large brick stack to right return. 2 storeys and attic; single-window range. Plain plinth, platt band over ground floor and top modillioned brick cornice. Segmental-headed entrance has archivolt with imposts and key over half-glazed panelled door. Windows have sills and 16-pane sashes, that to ground floor in wide moulded frame. Right return has C20 addition to right of ground-floor window with 4-pane horned sash and 1st-floor window with 3-light pegged casement; 2 gabled dormers with 2-light casements flank stack. Left return has partly exposed roof truss. Plaque records the 1st borough police station here 1836-89. (Bearman R: Stratford-upon-Avon: A History of its Streets and Buildings: Nelson: 1988-: 51).
