House. Late C18 and possibly earlier. Timber-framed with red Flemish-bond brick front and gabled clay plain tile roof. 2 storeys with attics and cellars. EXTERIOR: front has one flat-roofed dormer with a 2-light casement behind plain parapet. First floor has square C19 tripartite double-hung sash window in moulded surround, in old opening with rubbed brick flat arch. Either side there are blind window recesses with similar flat brick arches. Ground floor has one similar tripartite window, blind window recess and doorcase with flat hood. Recessed 6-panel door with raised-and-fielded panels, flank of recess also panelled. Flat-roofed belvedere on roof and large stack on ridgeline shared with No.25 (qv). 3-storey early C19 extension on rear with low pitched Welsh slate roof, SW gable in brick and 2 upper floors of black weatherboarding with a square small-paned double-hung sash on each floor. Ground floor is recessed. INTERIOR: very complete interior of late C18 with panelled entrance corridor partition. Front room has simple cornice and fitted cupboards with serpentine shelves. Fireplace and a number of reeded architraves with flower motif. Ground floor of rear extension has 2 fireplace flank recesses with segmental reeded arches and reeded bowed shelves. Timber frame part exposed of softwood. Tight winder staircase with turned balusters.
